The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has commenced the third edition of the annual Dr. Aisha Mohammed (Sarauniya) U-15 boys soccer tournament at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

The tournament, which started on Sunday, January 19, will feature 16 teams from 15 states, including Katsina, Kebbi, Borno,

Others are Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Jigawa, Ondo, Ekiti, Plateau, Bauchi, Niger, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The National Secretary of the Federation, Patrick Okpavuerhe, each participating state has 20 players who must be under 15 years old, with a maximum weight of 55 kg and height of 1.72 meters.

The host team, Bauchi, kicked off the tournament with a 1-0 win against Ondo in the opening match.

DIG Sani Mohammed (retired), the guest of honor at the opening ceremony, commended the organizers and Hajiya Mohammed for supporting the tournament.

He emphasized the importance of developing young talent and encouraged individuals to support organizations and individuals nurturing football talents in the country.
