Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Sunday won the Bauchi State competition for the 2025 President Federation Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Warinje FC.

In the competition’s final match at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) in Bauchi, both teams were locked in an intense battle which dragged on for long.
In the 83rd minute however, John Taiyo scored the decisive goal to secure victory and help Wikki Tourists retain their champion status.

Our Correspondent reports that seven teams participated in this year’s competition in the state.

In a post-match interview, Warinje FC’s Chief Coach, Yahaya Aminu, congratulated the winners in spite of his team’s loss.
“We take it in good faith. That is football. Definitely, one team must win.

“What gladdens my heart is that our players performed very well. It was a nice game, and I commend them for their efforts,” he said.
Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, Abdullahi Maikaba, on his part expressed his delight at the team’s triumph.

“It was an exciting game. After a rigorous battle, we managed to score a lone goal to defeat Warinje FC.

“Our successful rehearsals have prepared us well for the upcoming matches in the ongoing 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL),” Maikaba added.
