Mr Auwal Gotal, Chairman, Wikki Tourists Football Club (FC) of Bauchi, says the club is currently in discussions with two companies for a sponsorship deal aimed at kitting the team for the new season.

Gotal, while speaking with Sports Writers in Bauchi, mentioned there would-be sponsors, but expressed optimism that the deal would soon be finalised to serve as a morale booster for the players.

He highlighted the team’s performance in the first round of the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL), describing it as impressive.

“So far, Wikki Tourists have played six matches, winning four, drawing one, and losing one; so far, we have accumulated 13 points which have placed us on top of the Northern Conference C table.”

According to Gotal, the team is eager to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.

“We reaffirm our commitment to securing promotion to the elite cadre,” he added.

Gotal also disclosed that the club secured the services of new players to fill the space left by Damala, who moved to Katsina United FC, as well as two other players currently representing the country at the U20 national team.

The chairman reiterated the club’s commitment to player and staff welfare, noting that all match bonuses have been settled, and salaries paid as and when due.

“On welfare, I am assuring you that players and staff well-being remains a top priority of the management, and we are taking it seriously,” he said.

Gotal also commended the unwavering support of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, acknowledging his contributions to the club’s strong league position.

He urged fans and stakeholders to continue to support and pray for the team as they push towards their ultimate goal of returning to the NPFL.
