The Bauchi State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, has commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for being conferred with the prestigious 2024 Leadership Newspaper Award as Best Governor of the Year.
Hajiya Adama Ibrahim, the Ministry’s Information Officer, in a statement issued on Friday said Commissioner Wanka described the award as well-deserved, citing the Governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development across Bauchi State.
According to the Commissioner, the award came as no surprise, considering Gov. Mohammed’s visionary policies and aggressive investment in infrastructure that continue to serve as a catalyst for sustainable development and economic growth.
“Your Excellency Sir, this award is a testament of your resilience, doggedness and belief in creating an enabling environment for human capital development and economic prosperity in our dear Bauchi State,” she stated.
Wanka further assured that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management will continue to align with the Governor’s development blueprint under the “My Bauchi Project,” focusing on social inclusion, disaster mitigation, and providing relief to vulnerable communities.
She expressed confidence that more accolades will follow Governor Mohammed before the end of his administration, attributing this to his people-centered policies and inclusive leadership style.
