Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South Senatorial District in Kano State, has called on clerics to verify facts and conduct research before commenting on leaders and politicians.

He made this statement at the official commissioning of Masjid Amirul Ummah Friday Mosque on Friday in Bauchi.

Sumaila emphasized the importance of clerics sticking to the teachings and doctrine of Prophet Muhammad, which would strengthen the faith of the people and the leaders.

He noted that criticizing leaders without genuine facts and reasons only worsens the situation of the citizens.

“I urge our clerics to be cautious when commenting on leaders and politicians,

“They should verify the facts and conduct research before making any statements. This will help to promote peace and stability in our society.”Senator Sumaila said.

Prof Salisu Shehu, Imam Masjid Amirul Ummah and Vice Chancellor of Al-Istigama University Sumaila in Kano State, also spoke at the event.

He advocated for the building of mosques in Tafawa Balewa town, which was affected by a crisis that destroyed mosques in the area.

According to Prof Shehu, there is currently no mosque in Tafawa Balewa town.

“We need to rebuild the mosques in Tafawa Balewa town.

“This will help to promote peace and stability in the area. We also need to establish schools that will teach both Islamic and Western education.”,” Prof Shehu said.

The event also highlighted the importance of education, with Prof Shehu announcing plans to establish an Islamiyya School that would also teach Western education. Orphans in the community would benefit from free education at the school.

“We believe that education is key to promoting peace and stability in our society,

“That’s why we’re establishing this school. We want to provide opportunities for orphans and other vulnerable children to access quality education,”Prof Shehu said.

The commissioning of the Masjid Amirul Ummah Friday Mosque was attended by dignitaries from across the state, including traditional rulers, politicians, and clerics.
