Retirement: NOA State Director Omaga hands over Power

The outgoing Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs. Theresa Omaga, has officially handed over leadership to the most senior officer, Alhaji Nasiru Mahe, who will serve as the Acting Director of the agency in Bauchi State.

In a statement made available to our correspondent and signed by the Acting Director, the handover ceremony took place on Monday at the Federal Secretariat in Bauchi after 35 years of active service of the outgoing director as stipulated by Nigeria Civil Service Law.

During the handover, Mrs. Omaga highlighted some of the challenges she faced, including difficulties in reorienting residents toward adopting positive behavioral changes and emphasized the need for continued reorientation efforts.

However, she also expressed joy over some of the successes recorded during her tenure, including aggressive campaigns for positive change, transparency, and inclusive engagement with stakeholders.

Mrs. Omaga extended her heartfelt gratitude to all staff members for their dedication, support, and contributions, which played a crucial role in the Directorate’s achievements.

She urged both management and staff to extend the same level of support and cooperation to the incoming Acting Director, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving the agency’s goals.

Mrs. Omaga encouraged Alhaji Nasiru Mahe to leverage his experience and expertise to further advance the objectives of NOA in Bauchi State.

She expressed confidence that under his leadership, the agency would continue to thrive.

The statement also noted that the new Acting Director assured his commitment to moving the agency forward in the state, particularly in line with the core mandates set by the federal government.
