Rep.Leko, Albasar Provide Free Eye Care to 500 Bauchi Constituents

The Member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Jafaru Gambo Leko, representing Bogoro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, has collaborated with Albasar International Foundation Nigeria to offer free eye care services to over 500 residents of his constituency.

Speaking at the Primary Health Center in Bununu, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area on Tuesday, Leko noted that this marks the second edition of the program.

“A total of 500 constituents from Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa will benefit from this initiative,” he said.

He explained that the beneficiaries will receive comprehensive eye care services, including, free consultations, eye glasses, eye pressure checks, acuity tests, cataract surgery, free blood pressure tests among others.

Leko, represented by his Legislative Aide, Mr. Anas Hamid, stressed that the beneficiaries were selected from the three local government areas.

He assured that the exercise would continue, urging those who have not benefited to remain patient.

Earlier, Mr. Abdullahi Badamasi, Manager of Albasar International Foundation Nigeria, emphasized that the free eye treatment is a collaborative effort between the hospital and the lawmaker.

“We have been partnering with Mr. Leko to provide free eye treatment to his constituency, with the first edition held in Bogoro Local Government Area,” he said.

Badamasi added that beneficiaries requiring surgery would be referred to the hospital in Bauchi for the procedure. He also advised the beneficiaries on essential health tips.
