The Bauchi State Chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has expressed disappointment and dismay over a recent empowerment initiative by the wife of Hon. Aliyu Aminu Garu, Member Representing Bauchi Federal Constituency.

A viral picture showed Hajiya Fatima Aliyu Aminu Garu distributing sugarcane sticks to youths, which the PRP described as “tokenism” and “superficial gestures”.

In a statement signed by Secretary Abdulaziz Haruna, the party made available to Journalists on Thursday, demanded that Hon. Aliyu Garu account for his actions and inactions in the National Assembly, including tangible developmental initiatives he has brought to the constituency.

The PRP questioned the number of bills he has sponsored, concrete projects he has initiated, and his commitment to serving the people.

The party urged Hon. Aliyu Garu to demonstrate his commitment to serving the people by working towards tangible benefits that transcend mere tokenism and handouts.

The PRP also called on the people of Bauchi Local Government Area/Federal Constituency to hold their representative accountable for his actions or lack thereof,

The Party emphasizing the need for a change in representation that truly reflects the aspirations and needs of the constituents.
