Senator Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Governors Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reiterated the forum’s backing of Rivers State Governor Similaye Fubara as the state’s party leader.
As the number one PDP member in Rivers State, Governor Fubara should control the party’s structure, Mohammed emphasized.
During a meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) delegation, led by National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade on Tuesday in Bauchi
Mohammed highlighted the PDP’s legacy, including its 16 years of good governance and commitment to core values like good governance, respect for the rule of law, and national unity.
The Governors Forum Chairman stressed the need for collaboration between the forum and the NWC to resolve issues, including litigations.
The delegation pledged support for the forum’s position in Rivers State, where governors typically lead the party.
Mohammed also advocated for the North-Central Zone to produce the National Chairman, citing precedents set by Ahmed Mu’azu and Ali Modu Sheriff.
He ensured regular meetings between the PDP Governors Forum and the NWC to discuss unity and development.
