The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux and apprehended two suspects linked to human trafficking in separate operations aimed at enhancing security in the state.
Addressing journalists, Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde on Saturday in Bauchi praised his officers for their dedication to protecting lives and property.
According to him, In the early hours of March 25, 2025, at approximately 03:31 hours, NSCDC operatives intercepted a stolen black Toyota Hilux (TRD V6 Off-Road) 2020 model with chassis number MROFA3CDOL3850349.
“The vehicle, belonging to Mr. Emmanuel Agbola of Rantiya, Jos, Plateau State, had been stolen from the Rantiya area near High School.
“Acting swiftly on the report, NSCDC personnel launched a stop-and-search operation along the Bauchi-Jos Expressway.
“Sensing imminent capture, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled. The recovered Hilux has since been returned to its rightful owner,” he said
The Commandant explained that in a separate operation, NSCDC operatives apprehended two individuals involved in human trafficking.
“On March 21, 2025, at around 10:00 hours, Faith Gabriel (19), a resident of Yalwan Kagadama/Unguwan Kusu, reported a case of human trafficking to the NSCDC Bauchi State Command.
“She accused Comfort Godiya (33) of luring victims under the guise of securing employment for them.
The victims, identified as Faith Gabriel (19), Joy Samson (20), Dinatu Danjuma (20) and Balema (20) were transported to Ibadan on March 10, 2025, allegedly for restaurant jobs.
“However, they were instead lodged in an undisclosed hotel, where they discovered they were being trafficked for commercial sex work en route to Côte d’Ivoire. Upon realizing the danger, they fled and returned to Bauchi,” he said
He said the suspects confessed to facilitating the victims’ transportation.
Commandant Oyerinde condemned human trafficking, warning perpetrators of severe legal consequences.
