The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Bauchi state command has arrested two cousins for allegedly stealing two bags of unprocessed rice in a neighborhood and raping one woman in the another house at the same neighborhood.

The newly posted commandant of the  Corp, Oyerinde Oloyede Nelson while parading the suspects on Friday at the Command’s headquarters warned the youths including students in Bauchi to depart from all these crimes that will bring shame to them and family members

The Commandant who revealed that that one of the suspects Ahmad Bala was a security personnel of one private security unit at Ningi frowned at the incident saying that legal action will be initiated in due course.

Speaking to Albarka Radio, the suspects twenty eight year old Ahmed Bala and his cousin twenty year old Tahir Bala who is a student all confessed that they actually did it adding that they have regrets.

“We have entered our neighbours compound and stole two bags of unprocessed rice, and my brother raped a woman; we are very sorry, it is a stupid thing to steal not to talk of rape.

“We are pleading for mercy, I have not done this kind of thing before and we are pleading for government to reduce the punishment they will give us”, they said.

Our correspondent gathered that it was at the point of selling the unprocessed rice that they were apprehended following intelligence by the men of the command.
