NGOs urges increase support for women farmers, girls’ education

A Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) in collaboration with Plan International under the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights/Education (ASPIRE) project has called for greater support for women farmers, equal access to education.

She emphasised the transformative impact of empowering women in agriculture, governance, and education.

“Supporting women farmers with resources, training, and access to markets can transform communities and economies.

“Women are not just contributors to agriculture; they are key drivers of sustainable development,” the statement read,” Daniel said

The Executive Director also underscored the importance of education in unlocking the full potential of women and girls.

“By ensuring equal access to quality education, we foster innovation and progress. Education is the foundation of empowerment,” Mrs. Daniel stated.

She also stressed the need for women’s participation in governance, calling for policies that prioritize gender equality.

“Women must have a seat at the table, shaping policies that affect their lives and communities.

“ Their voices are crucial in creating inclusive and effective governance,”she said.

According to her, as the world stands at a crucial moment in the pursuit of gender equality, We urged accelerated action on women’s rights at all levels.

“This is not just a women’s and girls’ issue; it is a societal imperative. When women and girls thrive, entire communities flourish,” Mrs Daniel concluded.
