In a significant move to boost education and community development, Hajiya Jamila Jafaru Leko, wife of the House of Representative member representing Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa federal constituency in Bauchi State has awarded scholarships to 50 students to study at Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education Kangere.
Hajiya Leko stated this during the inauguration of distribution of school bags and exercise books in Mbar Arewa Primary School Bogoro on Thursday.
She said the gesture is part of her efforts to support the educational advancement of young people in her husband’s constituency, underscoring her commitment to empowering the next generation.
In addition to the scholarships, Hajiya Jamila Jafaru Leko has also distributed school bags and exercise books across the three local government areas of Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa.
“The scholarship recipients, selected from across the constituency, will benefit from full tuition fees and other educational expenses covered throughout their studies.
“This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens on families, allowing students to focus on their academic pursuits.

The distribution of school bags and exercise books targets primary and secondary school students, providing essential learning materials to enhance their educational experience.
This constituency, located in the Southern part of Bauchi State, has a rich cultural heritage, with major ethnic groups including the Sayawa and Hausa/Fulani. Tafawa Balewa town is a significant hub, boasting a strong historical significance.
