Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has boldly responded to Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike’s threat to ignite political crisis in states of PDP governors meddling in Rivers State’s affairs.

Mohammed declared, “We are together and nobody can put fire in Bauchi because we have volumes of water” This statement came during his meeting with the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) delegation at Government House Bauchi on Tuesday.

Wike’s initial threat was a reaction to the forum’s call for reviewing the party congress outcome to restore Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s leadership role.

Wike warned, “I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see, you take.”

Mohammed downplayed Wike’s threat, saying it stemmed from annoyance rather than a personal vendetta. “My friend is my friend, my job is my job, and leadership is leadership.”

The Bauchi Governor expressed delight at the NWC delegation’s visit, calling it “unsolicited” and a demonstration of hope in Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of doing things by the rule of law, respecting diversity, and putting personal interests aside.
