Bauchi State is set to witness a transformative era in rural development as Governor Bala Mohammed has inaugurated the construction of 115 kilometers of roads across the state’s three senatorial zones.

The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) aims to boost agricultural marketing, improve livelihoods, and enhance economic opportunities for rural communities.

Governor Mohammed emphasized the strategic importance of the project, aligning with the state’s broader vision of improving rural access and agricultural marketing.

The five-year project will provide sustainable access roads in rural areas, facilitating agricultural activities and enhancing economic opportunities.

The governor highlighted the state’s commitment to the project, with a total sum of N2.4 billion provided as counterpart funding.

He also underscored the extensive groundwork laid for the initiative, including the awarding of 115 km roads across five locations.

The RAAMP project has been praised for its potential to transform the state’s rural economy, enhance connectivity, and improve the quality of life for rural communities.

The State Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Farouk Mustapha, commended the governor’s dedication to rural development, fulfilling campaign promises.

National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engr. Aminu Bodinga, praised the governor’s efforts, noting the significance of the projects in improving living standards, reducing poverty, and providing access to social amenities.

As RAAMP prepares to roll out phase II, Engr. Bodinga requested continued support, highlighting the need for additional counterpart funds to sustain the project’s momentum.
