First Lady Remi Donates 1000 Bags of Rice to Christian Community

Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1000 bags of 25kg rice to the Christian community in Bauchi State to support their celebration of Christmas and the New Year.

The donation, made under the Renew Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led APC administration, aims to alleviate the negative impact of the current economic situation in the country.

Mr Ayuba Umar Yelwa, Bauchi State Coordinator of the Northern Nigeria Christian Political Forum disclosed this on Monday in Bauchi

He said the donation was made possible through a meeting with Sen. Oluremi Tinubu on December 19, 2024, in Kaduna.

Yelwa expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that it would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the people.

“The items will be distributed across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, with priority given to widows, widowers, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals.

Coordinators from each LGA have assured that the distribution will be fair and just, following the First Lady’s instructions,” he said.

Mr Iliya Bukar, Coordinator of Bauchi LGA, commended the kind gesture of the First Lady, saying it would bring smiles to the faces of the beneficiaries during the festive season.

Also speaking,Mrs. Saratu John, the only female coordinator, stated that the donation came at the right time, considering the current economic hardship, and assured that the targeted beneficiaries would receive the items.
