In a bid to tackle immunization gaps and improve health outcomes, the Borno State Primary Healthcare Development Board (BOSPHDB) has partnered with the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Community of Practice.
Prof. Arab Mohammed Alhaji, Executive Secretary of the Board stated this when
AHBN Community of Practice members paid an advocacy visit to his office in Maiduguri.
He promised support for AHBN’s efforts to address immunization gaps, particularly in demand generation and uptake.
Alhaji’s pledge demonstrates the Borno State Government’s commitment to improving immunization coverage and partnering with stakeholders to achieve better health outcomes.
The Executive Secretary said the collaboration between Borno State and AHBN is a critical step towards ensuring that no child is left behind in immunization efforts.
Earlier, AHBN’s Coordinator, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, represented by Dr. Hassan Shuaibu Musa, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting Borno State’s immunization efforts.
“The Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH). Project has made significant progress, but immunization gaps remain. We’re committed to working with the state government to address these gaps,” Dr. Musa said.
The partnership aims to identify and address immunization gaps in Borno State
and strengthen the immunization budget landscape.
“Improve vaccination coverage, especially in hard-to-reach areas and ensure no child is left behind in immunization efforts,” he said
Chairman of the Community of Practice,Dr Ali Danladi Gambo assured that the CoP will collaborate with government and non-government actors.
“Work tirelessly to ensure the success of immunization efforts and strengthen the immunization budget landscape in the state.
