Blind Association Calls for Inclusive Employment Opportunities

The Nigerian Association of the Blind, Bauchi State Chapter, has called on the National Assembly members from the state, the state government, and stakeholders to prioritize the employment and inclusion of blind graduates in the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by Shafiu Usman, Secretary to the Youth Leader of the Nigerian Association of the Blind in Bauchi made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Bauchi

According to a statement blind individuals in the state face significant challenges in securing employment, despite their qualifications and capabilities.

“This has led to social exclusion and stigma, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and inequality.

The association is urging the government and stakeholders to take immediate action to address the unemployment crisis facing blind graduates in the state.

“This can be achieved through initiatives such as job training programs, mentorship schemes, and inclusive hiring practices.

“We believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities, regardless of their abilities,”

“We call on the government and private sector to implement inclusive hiring practices, providing equal opportunities for blind graduates.” The statement said
