Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has settled the N5 million medical bill of Hafsat Adebayo, a female journalist bedridden for over four years due to a brain tumor.

Mohammed, who once practiced journalism, presented the cheque through his Media Aide, Mukhtar Gidado, to the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi State Council, Ahmed Mohammed.

The governor emphasized his commitment to journalists’ welfare, urging media practitioners to consider him a colleague.

Hafsat’s family, including her elder sister Aisha Abdulhamid and husband Alh. Salihu Gbadamasi, expressed gratitude for the governor’s timely intervention, praising his kindness and selflessness.

This gesture marks the governor’s fifth medical intervention for journalists, totaling N6.2 million for Hafsat alone.
