The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, has pledged his support for immunization financing in Bauchi State.
This commitment came during an advocacy visit from members of the Bauchi State Zero Dose Learning Hub Community of Practice (CoP), led by Hon Mohammed Usman, Chairman of the African Health Budget Network (AHBN).
The Emir, accompanied by the Waziri of Bauchi and Ajiya of Bauchi, welcomed the delegation and assured them of his support and prayers for immunization services in the state.
Earlier, Hon Usman sought the Emir’s royal blessings and requested his high-level advocacy with the government to ensure timely release of budgeted immunization funds.
On his part, Dr. Hassan Shuaibu Musa, Bauchi State ZDLH team lead, highlighted the CoP’s efforts in ensuring the allocation of the projected ₦870 million immunization budget in the 2025 financial year.
He also emphasised the importance of the Emir’s support in leveraging critical immunization stakeholders to ensure the success of the Zero Dose Learning Hub in Bauchi State.
This development comes as the Bauchi State Government has already demonstrated its commitment to immunization financing, allocating ₦45.1 billion to the health sector in 2024, representing 15% of the total state budget.
