The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi National Alumni Association has distanced itself from a publication criticizing the university’s governing council.

The is contained in a statement signed by National President Mohammed Sani Wada, made available to newsmen on Monday in Bauchi

He said the association had no prior knowledge or involvement in the publication.

The disputed letter criticized Professors A.Y. Duste, S.Y. Umar, and A.M. Babayo for their roles in appointing a substantive Vice Chancellor, alleging irregularities in the process.

However, the alumni association deemed the publication “unfounded, malicious, and disrespectful” to the governing council’s authority.

The ATBU Bauchi Alumni Association urged the governing council to disregard the petition and continue discharging its duties.

“Should we have concerns, we will address them through appropriate channels

“We wish to state unequivocally that the ATBU Bauchi Alumni Association had no hand in the publication,” Wada emphasized.

He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to upholding the university’s values and supporting its governing council.

The association’s stance is seen as a significant development in the ongoing debate surrounding the university’s leadership.
