The All Progressives Congress (APC) government, once hailed as a symbol of hope for millions of Nigerians, is now seen by many as a source of deepening disillusionment. Since taking power, the APC administration has been widely criticized for its handling of the economy, national security, and social welfare. As the country struggles with rising inflation, high unemployment, and a growing sense of insecurity, what was once promised as a bright future for Nigerians has turned into what many now call a “dark dream.”

The economic challenges facing the nation have reached a critical point. Prices of essential goods have skyrocketed, the value of the naira has plummeted, and fuel prices have surged, leaving many Nigerians in dire financial straits. The deteriorating conditions have hit women and children the hardest, with growing numbers of families unable to afford basic necessities. As public frustration deepens, the government’s response has been questioned for its effectiveness and sincerity in addressing the issues.

In Lagos, the country’s commercial hub, the situation has grown increasingly grim. Reports of the APC distributing bread to dying women in an attempt to alleviate some of their suffering have sparked outrage and sadness. Many see this act as a symbolic representation of the government’s failure to provide sustainable solutions to the larger problems facing the population. Rather than systemic reforms to address the root causes of poverty and economic disparity, such efforts are seen as a temporary band-aid on a deep wound.

This heartbreaking scenario underscores the severity of Nigeria’s economic and social crisis, leaving many to ask: how can Nigeria be saved? Calls for better governance, economic reforms, and leadership accountability continue to echo across the country as citizens seek real change. For many, the dream of a prosperous Nigeria under APC has turned into a nightmare, leaving the nation in a state of uncertainty.
