Aminu Saleh COE Azare Goes digital

The Aminu Saleh College of Education (ASCOE) Azare has taken a giant leap into the digital age with the implementation of a range of innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education and meeting modern standards.

Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed, Provost of the College stated this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi

She said the institution has installed 24-hour solar lighting in its library, clinic, and ICT facilities, providing students with a conducive learning environment.

“The College has also transitioned to a refurbished and well-equipped physical and digital library with accessible internet connectivity, allowing students to access a vast array of academic resources.

“The College’s website, Gmail, and social media platforms are all operational, providing visibility and comprehensive information about the College.

Mohammed added that the College has centralized and automated its academic records on its portal for convenient access, transparency, and security.

“The faculty, both academic and administrative, exhibit a 90% proficiency in computer literacy and engagement, ensuring that students receive the best possible education.

“The College has also included in this year’s Tetfund normal intervention plan, the upgrading of the School of Education and the Gymnasium,,” she said

The Provost further said the state government, through the Ministry of Youths and Sports, is collaborating with the College to establish an Athletic Academy on the premises, providing students with opportunities to develop their athletic skills alongside their academic pursuits.

According to her, the College’s Innovation Center, set to launch in the upcoming semester, will provide dual certifications to graduating students, offering various programs focused on entrepreneurial skills and certifications.

“The College has also established partnerships with several organizations such as National Power Institute (NAPTIN), SMEDAN, and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRD), the Centre for Information and Technology Development (CITAD), among others to facilitate this endeavor.

Prof.Sadiya expressed gratitude to the Governor Bala Mohammed, for his unwavering support, which has enabled the College to achieve these milestones.

“The Governor has authorized the recruitment of 154 junior staff, allocated funds for accrediting all NCE programs, and granted approval for accrediting four additional undergraduate programs,” he said.
