The Honorable Minister for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (OON), has donated N20 million to three flood-ravaged Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Bauchi State. The affected LGAs are Gamawa, Giade, and Shira.
Tugger made the donation when he visited the affected local government areas recently. In addition to the financial support, the Minister also donated food items, including noodles, one truck of rice, and detergents to the victims of the flood.
The donation was distributed among the three LGAs and Gidiya community with each receiving N5 million.
The Minister extended his deepest sympathies to the communities affected by the flood, sharing in their sorrow and praying for a swift recovery for those who sustained injuries.
He acknowledged the pain and hardship caused by the disaster and assured the affected communities that efforts are being made to provide necessary support and aid to help them rebuild and recover.
Amb. Tuggar’s donation is a timely intervention to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims in Bauchi State.
The flood, which occurred recently, has left many communities in distress, with homes, farmlands, and livestock destroyed. The Minister’s support will go a long way in providing relief to the affected communities.
The Minister also called on all citizens and humanitarian organizations to extend a helping hand to those in need, reinforcing the shared commitment to unity and compassion in the face of adversity.
He emphasised the importance of supporting those affected by the flood, saying, “We must come together to help our brothers and sisters in need.”
Responding to the donation, the District Head of Gamawa, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Dahuwa, and the District Head of Giade, Alhaji Muhammadu Sabo Abdulkadir, appreciated the Minister for his gesture. They assured the Minister that the money and donated items would be distributed judiciously to those affected by the flood.
“We appreciate you coming back home and considering the plight of the people affected by the flooding,” said Alhaji Dahuwa. “Your donation will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of our people.”
Alhaji Abdulkadir also thanked the Minister, saying, “Your support is timely and well appreciated. We will ensure that the donated items are distributed fairly to those in need.”
The Minister’s donation is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of the people of Bauchi State. His support will undoubtedly bring relief to the affected communities and help them rebuild their lives.
