Following the release of timetable for the 2027 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday, stakeholders including youth advocates have publicly called on Edeh Benjamin to consider contesting for the House of Representatives in Cross River North.

Some youth, under the auspices of Youth Advocates for Good Governance, while addressing a Press Conference in Kaduna on Friday emphasized the importance of youth participation in the coming general elections.

The youth who are mostly civic stakeholders tasked Benjamin to contest the seat, representing Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency.

The leader of the group, Ukpono Honour, explained during the Press Conference that their support was as a result of Edeh’s growing influence as a political communicator, author, and Pan-African advocate.

“We are impressed by Edeh’s commitment to speaking for the voiceless and his work bridging youth energy with practical leadership vision.

“We believe his experience positions him to represent our interests effectively at the National Assembly.

“The calls for Edeh’s entry into the House of Representatives race reflect a desire for fresh, youth-driven representation that resonates with today’s aspirations for good governance and accountability,” the group emphasized.

Recalled that in 2025, Edeh published a book titled: “The Broken Wings of an Eagle” – a book focusing on resilience, hope, and leadership. This earned him recognition among youth leaders and civil society groups across Nigeria
