Children’s Day: NOA Bauchi Urges Stakeholders to Empower Children for a Brighter Future

The Acting State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Bauchi State, Mallam Adamu Umar Sarkinyara, has called on different stakeholders to renew their commitment to empowering children as a critical investment in Nigeria’s future.

Mallam Sarkinyara made the appeal Wednesday while presenting some national items including copies of new national anthem among others to the management of Sunshine international school as part of activities to mark 2025 children’s day.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General of NOA, he conveyed heartfelt greetings and reaffirmed the Agency’s dedication to the protection and development of children across the country.

“Our children carry the hope of tomorrow,” he said. “As a nation, we must recognize their immense potential and equip them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive as future leaders and responsible citizens”, he said.

He emphasized the importance of upholding the rights of children as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Nigeria’s Child Rights Act.

These include access to quality education, healthcare, protection from harm, and equal opportunities for growth and development.Mallam Sarkinyara further highlighted the link between child empowerment and sustainable national development, stressing that investing in children today is the surest pathway to a more stable and prosperous future for the country.

He also urged all Nigerians to play their part in building an enabling environment where every child can flourish. “Together, let us nurture, guide, and empower our children to create a brighter and better tomorrow,” he said.

Receiving the items, the Deputy Headmistress of Sunshine international school Bauchi Mrs. Rugaiya Aliyu appreciated the gesture of NOA adding that the pupils will be engaged to not only make proper use of the items but are committed to shaping the bright future of the learners.

The event marked a significant reflection point on the need for collective efforts in child development, as Bauchi joined the rest of the nation in celebrating its youngest citizens.
