Coalition rallies support for senator Jika’s 2027 Governorship Bid in Bauchi

A political coalition advocating for credible leadership in Bauchi State has formally declared its support for Distinguished Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, popularly known as Dokajin Bauchi, urging him to contest in the 2027 governorship election.
Hon. Ahmed Yero on behalf of the Coalition Steering Committee,made the advocacy at a press conference on Saturday in Bauchi.
The group emphasized that its decision followed thorough consultations and a strong desire to present a candidate with proven experience, visionary leadership, and deep commitment to the development of Bauchi State.
The coalition highlighted Senator Jika’s long-standing service record, which began in 2007 as a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, where he was elected Speaker.
“He later served as a member of the House of Representatives representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency and chaired the House Committee on Police Affairs from 2015 to 2019.
“In light of his leadership qualities, consistent public service, and widespread grassroots acceptance, we firmly believe that Senator Halliru Dauda Jika possesses the right vision and capability to lead Bauchi State to greater heights,” the Coalition said
The coalition also disclosed that it had reached out to stakeholders across party lines, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community influencers across the state, all in a bid to secure wide-based support for Senator Jika’s aspiration.
Appealing especially to youth and women, the group called for unity and proactive participation in actualizing the goal of electing a competent leader in 2027.
Additionally, the coalition extended a hand of cooperation to the current Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi), soliciting his support for the project.
The group assures that Senator Jika’s blueprints and leadership vision are geared towards inclusive governance and sustainable development.
