The Bauchi State Zero Dose Learning Hub Community of Practice (CoP) members recently conducted a PHC Facility Supervision exercise at Yelwa Domiciliary PHCC and Lushi Health Post in Bauchi LGA.

Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa, focal person of African Health Budget Network’s (AHBN
said the supervision aimed to ensure compliance with the recommended Immunization Accountability Framework and assess the quality of immunization services provided.

“The Supervision led by officials from the Bauchi LGA Health Authority and the African Health Budget Network Bauchi State Focal, the team inspected the Cold Chain Infrastructure, its utilization, and maintenance.

“They also reviewed the provision of Routine Immunization Services and other PHC services, including those funded by the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF),” he said.

According to him, the exercise sought to ensure adequate utilization of budgeted and released funds, identify gaps in immunization and PHC services, and provide recommendations for improvement.

This effort aligns with the African Health Budget Network’s (AHBN) advocacy for improved immunization budget allocation, tracking, and accountability in Bauchi State.

He said similar supervision exercises were conducted in Ganjuwa LGA in the third quarter of 2024, demonstrating the CoP’s commitment to enhancing immunization service provision and ensuring sustainable immunization financing in the state.
