CoP Develops Scorecard to Track Immunization Budget Implementation

Bauchi State Zero Dose Learning Hub Community of Practice (CoP) has taken a significant step towards improving immunization coverage with the development of an immunization financing scorecard.

The scorecard, designed to review budget allocation and release per quarter, was unveiled at the fourth-quarter review meeting of the Bauchi State Zero Dose Learning Hub Community of Practice (CoP) held at Bagari Suites on Friday in Bauchi.

The CoP, which played a crucial role in advocating for the allocation of 872 million naira to fund immunization activities in the state,

They expressed optimism that the scorecard would promote sustainable accountability and track real-time progress in immunization budget implementation.

Dr. Adamu Mohammed, Chairman of the CoP and Director of Disease Control and Immunization at the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board said the scorecard would ensure that all stakeholders are held accountable for their roles in achieving universal immunization coverage in the state.

The scorecard is expected to support zero-dose Local Government Areas (LGAs) and underserved communities, ultimately contributing to the achievement of universal immunization coverage in Bauchi State.

Mr Jinjiri Garba Co-Chairman expressed optimism that the Immunization Financing scorecard when deployed and utilized properly will put all stakeholders on deck to achieve more sustainable accountability and track real time progress per quarter in 2025 with a view to supporting zero dose LGAs and underserved communities and ultimately Universal Immunization Coverage in the State.

Dr. Hassan Shuaibu Musa, Facilitator of the CoP and Bauchi State Focal Person for AHBN, appreciated the Coordinator/CEO of AHBN and members of the CoP in Bauchi State for their commitment to making the review meeting a success.

He charged members of the CoP, especially Directors of PHC and LGA Teams from zero-dose LGAs, to engage their respective LGA Chairmen and colleagues to identify and resolve immunization-related challenges.

The African Health Budget Network (AHBN), in consortium with the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), is implementing the Zero Dose Learning Hub in Bauchi State, along with Sokoto, Borno, and Kano States.

The Zero Dose Learning Hub Community of Practice is a multi-stakeholder body comprising academics, professional bodies, civil society organizations, youth groups, representatives of people living with disabilities, and traditional leaders.

The CoP reviews the immunization financing landscape in Bauchi State, promoting collaboration and innovation to improve immunization outcomes.
