Islamic clerics and stakeholders in Bauchi State have emphasized the importance of acquiring knowledge, citing that Nigeria’s progress hinges on seeking knowledge that brings individuals closer to Almighty Allah.
They made the call at the official commissioning ceremony of the newly constructed Muassa Model Quranic Nursery and Primary School, under Sheik Dahiru Bauchi foundation on Friday in Bauchi
Sayyidi Aliyu Sise Dahiru Bauchi, Director Education understands the foundation urged Nigerians to pursue knowledge, unity, and righteousness to overcome the country’s challenges.
Nigeria will not escape its current challenges unless we prioritize knowledge,
“We must seek understanding and wisdom rooted in Islamic values.”he said
The cleric referenced Quranic verses, such as “Recite: In the name of thy Lord who created man from a clot. Recite
Thy Lord is the Most Generous Who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not” (Quran, 96:1-5), to underscore the significance of knowledge
Sise stresses the Importance of Knowledge in Islam “In Islam, knowledge is considered a vital aspect of a person’s faith.
The Prophet Muhammad emphasized the importance of seeking knowledge, saying, “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.
“This pursuit of knowledge is not limited to religious studies but also encompasses scientific research and critical thinking,”
In a remark,Bauchi State Commissioner of Education Dr Jamilu Dahiru , represented by Director in the Ministry Hajiya Aishat Aminu, she integrated Islamic studies into modern education to foster a well-rounded understanding.
“Encouraging analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address real-world challenges.
“Collaborative efforts to address social issues and promote collective growth,” she said
The Commissioner’ reiterated the commitment of the state government on prioritizing Education and pledge to support the foundation to promote Education in the state
Dahiru stresses that by prioritizing knowledge acquisition, individuals can empower themselves, their communities, and ultimately, the nation.
