The African Development Bank (AfDB) has expressed satisfaction with Bauchi State’s implementation of the Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Programme (IBSDLEIP).
On Friday, AfDB’s Task Manager, Mthokozisi Ncube, led a supervision mission to Bauchi, praising the state’s impressive record among the five North Eastern states implementing the project.
“The programme has positively impacted lives, providing access to water, sanitation, public health, and education,” Ncube said during a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House.
Ncube highlighted Bauchi’s exemplary progress, noting that “Bauchi is an example among the five states of the North East implementing the project with an impressive record.” She said
According to her, IBSDLEIP’s Objectives is to oncrease access to basic social services for the poor and vulnerable as well as improve livelihoods for economic recovery.
“To enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities and strengthen basic education and primary healthcare.
Ncube appreciated the state government’s support and requested continued collaboration for sustainability.
In a remark, Governor Bala Mohammed’s
represented by Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, Governor Mohammed thanked AfDB for initiating the transformative program.
“AfDB’s commitment to sustainable development is commendable and crucial for our progress,” Mohammed said.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared goals in addressing multifaceted challenges.
“We are making strides in implementing strategies that uplift the lives of our people, particularly the vulnerable and marginalized,” Mohammed added.
Gov Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s partnership with AfDB and stakeholders for programme sustainability.
On his part the Bauchi State Project Coordinator, Engineer Garba Babaji Magaji reported a 90% success rate in implementing IBSDLEIP’s components.
“The State Project Implementation Unit has achieved remarkable progress despite challenges,” Magaji said.
The successful implementation of IBSDLEIP in Bauchi State demonstrates the effectiveness of AfDB’s interventions and the state’s commitment to improving lives.
