Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has acknowledged the vital role of traditional institutions in exercising social authority and supporting government efforts to meet citizens’ demands.
He made this statement during a condolence visit to Governor Bala Mohammed in Bauchi, following the passing of Emir of Ningi, late Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya.
Shettima hailed traditional rulers as custodians of culture and values, highlighting the late Emir’s contributions to the development of Ningi Emirate, Bauchi State, and Nigeria.
He prayed for the repose of the Emir’s soul and congratulated Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya on his appointment as the new Emir.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Vice President for his condolences and support during this difficult time.
The visit underscores the federal government’s recognition of traditional institutions’ significance in promoting social cohesion and development.
