NAWOJ Commends Catering Services for Empowering Youths through Skills Training

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Bauchi chapter, has praised Alajib Catering Services for its initiative in providing hands-on training for young people, aligning with government programs aimed at promoting self-reliance.

At the graduation ceremony of 20 participants, held on September 2024,

Chairperson Mrs. Rashida Yusuf acknowledged the private sector’s crucial role in developing the Nigerian economy through trades and crafts.

She commended Alajib Catering Services for targeting secondary school children, emphasizing the importance of catching them young and orienting their mindset towards self-reliance.

Mrs. Peace Edward, representative of Alajib Catering Services, explained that the three-week training focused on catering and bead making for children aged 12-17. The program aimed to equip participants with practical skills, including preparing local and continental dishes, drinks, and confectioneries.

Edward commended the participants for their dedication and passion for acquiring skills during the sessions and appreciated the parents for supporting the initiative.

Parent representative Mrs. Rashida Gital advocated for similar training programs for teenagers, emphasizing the potential for developing self-reliance in the targeted age group.
