The National Orientation Agency, Bauchi State has extended a partnership hand to the Department of State Services (DSS) in waging war against crime and lawlessness in the state.
Leading her management team on an advocacy visit to the Director of DSS on Monday, Mrs. Theresa Omaga state Director of NOA said a partnership with them like other security agencies will go a long way in reducing crime and lawlessness in the state.
According to her the agency having recognized the place of DSS in preventing crime deemed it fit to strengthen already existing working relationship which she tagged positive.
She explained that as the agency saddled with the responsibility of enlightening the public on government activities with its presence at the entire federation at large and Bauchi in particular, their partnership with DSS will go a long way in taming the tendency of crime and lawlessness
NOA Boss further, briefed the DSS on the upcoming activities of the NOA over the next five years, which encapsulated in the acronym Crime prevention, Health access, Environmental sustainability, educational development, Abuse eradication, and nicotinic eradication (CHLEEAN)
Responding, the acting Director of DSS in Bauchi State, Mr. Nafiu Tukur expressed willingness to partner with NOA especially at the grass-root level due to the important role they play in the society.
He said the DSS has a critical role in maintaining peace and creating a safe environment for all citizens to engage in their lawful activities and NOA can be of good help in achieving the goal.
The DSS Boss who acknowledged the existing synergy between NOA and DSS, even at the grassroots level promised to support the implementation of the CHLEEAN roadmap for the betterment of the state and the nation at large.
