Vera Anyim, the woman who gained attention after the controversy surrounding her recent testimony at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, has issued a public apology for requesting support to secure accommodation. Many Nigerians criticized her for seeking assistance in this manner. In a viral video, Anyim, who referred to herself as a celebrity, appealed to Nigerians for help finding a new place to live. However, her plea was met with shock from many quarters. Anyim has since apologized, explaining that she felt unsafe and feared being kidnapped due to false assumptions about her financial situation. She stated that she was not prepared for the overwhelming response and asked for forgiveness. Prior to this incident, the church’s Senior Pastor, Paul Enenche, had interrupted Anyim’s testimony about being a law graduate from the Open University of Nigeria in another viral video on social media.
